Ronald and Ruth Holm opened the Sarasota Schwinn Cyclery, at 1533 State Street in downtown Sarasota in 1969, the largest Schwinn dealer on the west coast of Florida. On August 30, 1972 construction was started for a larger site at 3800 South Osprey Ave near Bay Road in Sarasota.
The Sarasota Schwinn Cyclery has been awarded the Sarasota Herald Tribunes’ “Readers Choice” award for “Best Bicycle Shop” for 11 years (1993 to 2004.)
