Anne Skinner, EA, a tax preparer since 1979, developed a successful tax practice in Birmingham AL. Since 1994 she has been the proprietor of Anne Skinner's Income Tax Service in Venice, Florida. She is active in the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, Manasota Chapter of the Florida Society of Enrolled Agents, on the Board of Rotary Futures, and a member of QUOTA International
What is an Enrolled Agent?
An Enrolled Agent (EA) is an individual who has demonstrated technical competence in the field of taxation. EA's are licensed directly by the IRS, and can represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service. We are authorized to appear in place of the taxpayer at the Internal Revenue Service. Only EA's, attorneys and CPA's may represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Our Interview
There is a difference in having your tax return completed by Anne Skinner's Income Tax Service, and that difference begins with the interview. It will be the most thorough you have ever experienced. Key to the interview are detailed questions designed to discover all possible tax-saving opportunities, which cover almost every imaginable tax-related personal and occupational situation.
Our Follow-up
Our service does not end when you walk out of our door! Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 9-12 a.m. during the summer (as well as 8am-9pm during tax time). We are also available by appointment at any time. And we are always there for questions or information - you will notice that our home phone numbers are on all of our business cards! If you have filed an extension, we contact you to make sure that you come in to have your return done before the due date. We also contact our clients if there is a change in the tax law which will seriously affect them (such as the change in the Workers Comp law in 2003).
Free Mid-Year Review
In August we send a letter to all of our clients, offering a free review of their year-to-date income and potential deductions, to ensure that their estimated or withheld taxes will cover their tax liability at the end of the year.
Electronic Filing
We are registered e-filers with the IRS. Electronic filing gives you the assurance that your tax return has been received by the IRS, and also gives you a much faster refund.
